The winter season has been active for JMU football, with several players leaving the team through the transfer portal. To keep track of all the movement, a new winter tracker has been created and can be accessed through the provided link.
So far, no new players have been added to the team. However, several key departures have been made. Tyrique Tucker, a defensive tackle who showed promise in the 2023 season with significant playing time and production, has left the program. Sammy Malignaggi, a backup running back who saw limited opportunities last season and likely wouldn’t have seen much playing time in 2024, also departed. Solomon Vanhorse, a versatile player at running back and returner who had a successful career with the Dukes but was expected to be the third running back on the depth chart, also left. Collin Carroll, a tight end who redshirted in 2023 and has three years of eligibility left, decided to leave in search of more playing time. Wesley Bostic, an offensive lineman with three years of eligibility left, was not expected to see much playing time in 2024.
