Report: Jets to appear in six primetime games

Jets to Play Five Primetime Games in 2021, Including High-Profile Matchups Against Patriots and Colts

The Jets are set to open the season on Monday night for the second consecutive year, and they have five more primetime games scheduled as well. The NFL has announced that the Jets will face the 49ers in Week One, followed by a Thursday night matchup at home against the Patriots in Week Three. They will then host the Bills on Monday night in Week Five, travel to Pittsburgh for Sunday Night Football in Week Six, host the Texans on a Thursday in Week Nine, and welcome the Colts on a Sunday night in Week 11. Additionally, the Jets will play another standalone game in Week Five against the Vikings in London.

Teams can be scheduled for up to six primetime games before the season starts, but they could potentially be flexed into more games as the season progresses. Last year, the Jets were scheduled for five primetime games and the NFL’s first Black Friday game, which did not go as planned due to Aaron Rodgers’ injury. This year, all parties involved are hoping for better results in their primetime matchups.
