Health Care Service Corporation’s Growth in Texas

HCSC Expands into Southwest Houston with New Office, Creating Jobs and Boosting Economic Growth in Skilled Workforce Communities

Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) is expanding its operations into communities with skilled workforces to drive economic growth. In line with this strategy, the company has leased a 132,000 sq ft office building in Southwest Houston, Texas. This expansion will create job opportunities in the local community, benefiting residents and empowering them to reinvest in their areas.

Opella Ernest, M.D., President of HCSC Markets, emphasized the company’s commitment to promoting whole person health with compassion and innovation. The new Houston office is located at 8101 W. Sam Houston Parkway South, with buildout expected to be completed by January 2025. This location represents HCSC’s latest expansion effort, following the opening of a service center in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood and a combined office and neighborhood center in Chicago’s Morgan Park neighborhood.

Since 2019, HCSC has also opened neighborhood centers in Chicago’s Pullman and South Lawndale communities. Later this year, the company will be opening a neighborhood center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Through its broad portfolio of health benefit solutions, HCSC serves nearly 23 million people across the United States. In addition to health coverage options, the company also offers pharmacy solutions, life and dental insurance, and health data technology.
