Hamburg Hospital Baby Kidnapped by Imposter Doctor, Returned Unharmed Two Hours Later

On Monday, a dramatic incident occurred at a hospital in the Hamburg district of Heimfeld. A 18-year-old Bulgarian woman approached a mother and her child in the doctor’s office for a pediatric examination. The woman posed as a doctor and took the baby and fled from the clinic.

According to Bild, the girl who played the doctor told the woman that she had dropped something at the information desk and that she would take care of the baby. However, moments later, the woman discovered that there was no baby. It is still unknown whether the child’s mother and the 18-year-old are acquainted with each other.

The situation escalated quickly as two groups of large families gathered outside the hospital, allegedly numbering around 40 people. The police were called in to calm down the crowd, as people began to accuse each other of kidnapping.

Just two hours later, the woman returned with the baby and handed it over to hospital staff. She was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and is currently being investigated. Bild reports that it is believed that she recently had a miscarriage.
