There’s a new prime dog in town.

Pearl, a two-year-old female chihuahua from Orlando, Florida, has been crowned the world’s shortest dog living, according to Guinness Planet Records.

At just three.59 inches in height, Pearl is shorter than a popsicle stick and slightly taller than a teacup. Her length measures five inches, around the size of a dollar bill. She weighs 1.22 pounds.

But do not let her size fool you.

Pearl’s owner, Vanesa Semler, told the host of Guinness’ Italian talent Television show “Lo Show Dei Record” that the pocket-sized dog is “a bit of a diva.”

Semler also mentioned that Pearl is “a youngster at heart” in spite of her becoming two years old. Apart from Pearl, Semler has 3 other dogs, but only Pearl is thought of compact.

“We’re blessed to have her and to have this exceptional chance to break our personal record and share with the globe this astounding news,” she mentioned.

Pearl is connected to the earlier record holder Miracle Milly, who was three.eight inches. Milly passed away in 2020 prior to Pearl was born in September of that year to a single of Milly’s identical sisters. Each dogs weighed much less than an ounce at birth, according to Guinness Planet Records.

Making use of a dog-measuring wicket when following a straight vertical line, Pearl’s vet measured her height from the base of the leg foot to the prime of the shoulder blades. Guinness Planet Records says she was measured 3 occasions with short breaks in among.

Semler says Pearl’s preferred foods include things like chicken and salmon and that Pearl enjoys “dressing up good.”
