Greenville Health Department and EMA Office in Flames: Fortunate No One Was Hurt, But Total Loss Leaves Community in Search of Alternative Health Services

At approximately 3:30 a.m. on Sunday morning, a fire broke out at the building housing the Butler County Health Department and EMA office in Greenville, Alabama. Crews were quickly dispatched to the scene on Airport Road in Greenville, where they found the building engulfed in flames. Despite their best efforts to put out the fire, it was declared a total loss.

Fortunately, no one was inside the building at the time of the fire and there were no reported injuries. The cause of the fire is still being investigated, though authorities have ruled out arson as a possible cause.

In response to the fire, the Alabama Department of Public Health (ADPH) is currently working to secure a temporary location to provide health services to residents of Butler County. In the meantime, residents are advised to seek health services from Crenshaw County Health Department or other nearby locations. The ADPH website contains contact information and operating hours for all county health department locations for reference.
