The government has established coordination between the ministries, unions, and organizations involved in agricultural work to discuss issues such as labor costs, manpower procurement, flow management, training, and simplification. Undersecretary of Masaf Patrizio La Pietra revealed this after a meeting with Agricultural Redemption. He emphasized the government’s commitment to defending the agricultural industry after years of choices that have damaged the European agricultural sector.
La Pietra also discussed the need for a fair system for Irpef, an Italian personal income tax, that gives preferential treatment to farmers with lower incomes. He announced that the government would soon begin discussions with regions and agricultural organizations to identify supply chains for support interventions. The Undersecretary emphasized the need for an organic reform of the insurance system to lower insurance costs for farmers and expand coverage against catastrophic risks.
The farmers expressed approval at this crucial step to support the agricultural community. They see it as an important move towards simplifying aid delivery and avoiding financial cuts in community agricultural policy. The Undersecretary reaffirmed his commitment to protecting Italy’s agriculture sector and ensuring its future success through sustainable policies and initiatives.
