Georgia Business Owners Face Frustration Due to State Website Issues – WSB-TV Channel 2

Georgia Business Owners Frustrated with New License Renewal Program Online

Georgia Secretary of State’s new license renewal program online is causing issues for business owners across the state. Cosmetologist Michael Lavay, who has been licensed for 30 years, shared his frustration with the process. He explained that the website used to be simple and straightforward, with license renewal being done easily on the Georgia Secretary of State’s site. However, since the update, the site has been down and Lavay is unable to renew his license.

Lavay emphasized how crucial it is for professionals to have a valid license in order to work legally. Failing to renew on time can result in fines and late fees. Despite reaching out to the state for help, Lavay and other business owners have not received a solution, leading to widespread frustration.

Other professionals like vets, athlete agents, and architects are also facing issues with the license renewal program. The state has confirmed that they are aware of the problem but have not provided specific details or a timeline for resolving it. The deadline for license renewal has been extended until April 30th but business owners like Lavay are hoping for a prompt resolution as they are urging the state to get the website operational as soon as possible so that they can continue working legally without any interruption or delays.
