Fulton Police Department Successfully Locates Missing Vulnerable Person Using Drone

On Monday evening, the family of a missing vulnerable person reported the incident to the police at around 6:25 p.m. In response, a City of Fulton drone operator was immediately mobilized to aid in the search and rescue mission.

At approximately 7:50 p.m., the drone was deployed to cover a wooded terrain in the 600 block of Gansvoort Street. Utilizing its thermal imaging feature, the drone operator successfully located the vulnerable person at around 8:12 p.m. The operator then directed ground units to the location of the individual.

Upon being found at around 8:12 p.m., it was discovered that the vulnerable person was in good health. Officers assisted the individual out of the woods and reunited them with their family. Fulton Police Deputy Chief Chris Dempsey emphasized the significance of employing advanced technology for community safety.
