Ukrainian couple finds new beginning with bakery business in Minnesota after escaping conflict

From Kiev to Minnesota: Ukrainian Baker Polina Lahoda’s Gluten-Free Heaven

Polina Lahoda, a Ukrainian native and avid baker, has turned her passion into a business venture called Heaven Gluten Free Bakery in Minnesota. Along with her husband Vlad, they offer vegan, gluten-free loaves made with natural ingredients. Despite being gluten-free due to an autoimmune disease, Polina believes that their bread is suitable for everyone and can be both delicious and nutritious.

The Lahodas fled their home in Kiev due to the war and are now starting a new life in Minnesota. They feel grateful for the opportunity to feel safe and free in their new home and have found the people of Minnesota to be incredible. Despite the challenges of starting a business in a new country, they are determined to share their delicious loaves with the community.

In Ukraine, bread is a staple at every meal, and the Lahodas are now bringing that same love for baking to Minnesota. Their bakery sells loaves at various locations in the Twin Cities metro area. The Lahodas are excited to bring a taste of Ukraine to Minnesota and are thankful for the warm welcome they have received in their new home.
