From Beers to Transfers: JMU Men’s Basketball Team Starts Transfer Portal Season with Help from Three Notch’d Brewing

The transfer portal season for the JMU men’s basketball team is underway, sponsored by Three Notch’d Brewing. This offseason, with graduations and coach Mark Byington’s departure, the Dukes are expected to focus on bringing in new talent through the portal.

Three Notch’d Brewing has locations in Harrisonburg, Charlottesville, Richmond, Roanoke, and more, including the Valley Collab House for great beers in a vibrant atmosphere. Follow the movement of transfers here to see who the Dukes will be adding to their roster this offseason.

As of now, there have been no new additions to the JMU men’s basketball team. However, Terrence Edwards, the 2023-24 Sun Belt Player of the Year, is considering testing the NBA waters after averaging 17.2 points per game for the Dukes. Another departure is sophomore guard Xavier Brown, who showcased his scoring abilities during the Sun Belt Championship game. Additionally, Jaylen Carey, a big man with high potential, has also entered the transfer portal.
