Fleetwood Town has announced the signing of two new players, James Bolton from St Mirren and Mackenzie Hunt from Everton. Bolton, 29, has signed a two-year contract with the Cod Army after making 26 appearances for the Scottish side last season. He brings a wealth of experience from playing for various clubs such as Macclesfield, Halifax, Gateshead, Shrewsbury, Portsmouth, and Plymouth.
On the other hand, Hunt, 22, was released by Everton earlier this summer and has also signed a two-year deal with Fleetwood. Although he never made a senior appearance for the club despite being on Everton’s books since the age of 13, he expressed his excitement about joining Fleetwood. He praised the manager’s ambitions and looked forward to starting fresh with a team that is looking to bounce back from a disappointing season.
Hunt mentioned that he is eager to start playing “proper football” and believes that Fleetwood is the right place for him to do that. With experience in competitions like the Bristol Street Motors Trophy with Everton’s under-21s, Hunt is looking forward to making an impact with Fleetwood and contributing to the team’s success in the upcoming season.
