Florence hosts gathering of Italian video game industry

First Playable Returns to Florence, Promising More Networking and Business Opportunities in Italy’s Video Game Industry

The event First Playable, a celebration of the world of video games, is returning to Florence from 3 to 5 July 2024. Organized by IIDEA and the Toscana Film Commission in collaboration with ICE Agency, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the event aims to drive growth in Italy’s burgeoning video game industry. The previous edition attracted over 500 professionals and 1,000 business meetings, and this year promises even more networking and business opportunities.

Taking place at the venues of Nana Bianca and Cinema La Compagnia, First Playable will feature a variety of events including company meetings, technical discussions, and an awards ceremony recognizing Italy’s best games and professionals. These sessions provide an opportunity for attendees to explore new avenues within the gaming industry with the backing of esteemed partners.

As part of First Playable 2024, on July 4th at Cinema La Compagnia in Florence, the Italian Video Game Awards (IVGA) will be held. Organized by IIDEA to honor Italy’s achievements in gaming, this awards ceremony features categories such as Best Italian Game, Best Debut, Outstanding Art, Immersive Experience, Individual Contribution, and Outstanding Italian Company. Finalists and winners will be selected by a jury with some prizes awarded directly by the industry. Interested parties can purchase “Full Access” or “Social Access” tickets on Eventbrite which will grant them entry to all major events including the IVGA ceremony.
