The Catawba Science Center is set to launch a new exhibit on July 10th called “Expanding Horizons: The Solar System & Beyond.” This permanent exhibit, located in the Hall of Astronomy just outside the Millholland Planetarium, promises visitors an immersive experience that will transport them beyond our planet.
One of the highlights of the exhibit is a Mars pod that allows guests to get a feel for what life would be like on the red planet. Visitors will also have the chance to explore the solar system and learn about space travel. A new planetarium show, “Destination Mars,” narrated by former NASA astronaut Mae Jemison, will provide an exciting addition to the exhibit.
To find out more about this exciting new exhibit and planetarium show, visit CatawbaScience.org/Hall-of-Astronomy. The Catawba Science Center is located at 243 3rd Avenue N.E., Hickory, and is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Be sure to plan your visit and prepare for an out-of-this-world experience!
