Special solar eclipse event offered at the Kentucky Science Center

Experience the Magic of the Solar Eclipse at Kentucky Science Center’s Special Event!

In Louisville, the Kentucky Science Center is hosting a special event in honor of the upcoming solar eclipse. The event will take place on April 8 from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will feature a variety of special activities that are free with admission. Additionally, a limited number of eclipse glasses will be distributed for free with admission to the event.

During the event, guests will have the opportunity to explore all 50,000 square feet of activities at the Kentucky Science Center and participate in educational programming about the eclipse, eclipse-viewing safety, gravity principles, cultural interpretations of eclipses and constellations, and more. Guests can also enjoy creating pinhole cameras or streaming coverage of the eclipse from NASA as well as documentary screenings of Journey to Space 3-D in the center’s four-story theater which explores NASA’s Space Shuttle program, International Space Station and Hubble Space Telescope.

Mike Norman, CEO of Kentucky Science Center expressed excitement for this special occasion and looks forward to engaging with guests about their understanding and experience of this celestial event. This special event is made possible in part by a NASA Kentucky Space Grant
