Ex-Boyfriend Arrested for First-Degree Murder of Business Owner in Jacksonville

On Monday afternoon, a man wanted for first-degree murder was arrested in Jacksonville. Tevin Montrell Leach, 30, was apprehended around 2:30 p.m. Authorities had been searching for Leach in connection with the murder of Felicia Barbee-Battle, 30, outside her place of business, Molly Maid.

According to the Apex Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Beaver Creek Commons Dr on Monday, March 25, 2024, at 8:23 a.m. in reference to a shooting. When they arrived, they found Barbee-Battle on the ground outside Molly Maid, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite their efforts to save her, she was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Investigators discovered that the suspect in the shooting was Tevin Montrell Leach, who had previously been to the business and was known to the workers as Barbee-Battle’s ex-boyfriend.
