Double Trouble: Billy Smith and Langdon Hatton Earn Academic All-District Team Honors

Billy Smith and Langdon Hatton have been named members of the 2023-24 College Sports Communicators’ Academic All-District Team. This team recognizes students who excel both on the court and in the classroom.

Hatton, a junior data science major, had an impressive season with averages of 10.5 points and 7.1 rebounds. He also achieved five double-doubles during the season, including a standout performance against Kennesaw State where he scored 27 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. This is not Hatton’s first academic honor as he was also named to the 2024 Academic All-ASUN Team.

Smith, a sophomore psychology major, had a solid debut season after transferring from Miami (OH). He averaged 5.8 points per game and shot 34.6 percent from three-point range. His season-high was a 17-point game against Berea on December 7th. Both Hatton and Smith met the requirements for consideration for the CSC Academic All-District Team, which include maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.5 and appearing in a certain percentage of games.
