DoorDash introduces new initiative offering mobile health benefits in Pennsylvania

DoorDash Launches Revolutionary Portable Benefits Savings Program for its Employees, Starts with Six-Month Pilot in Pennsylvania

DoorDash has launched a portable benefits savings program for its employees, starting with a six-month pilot in Pennsylvania. The program will cover expenses such as retirement savings, health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as paid time off. The pilot will run from April through September 2024.

The company recognizes that many individuals are seeking ways to supplement their traditional jobs and meet their financial goals. DoorDash values the ability for employees to balance their work responsibilities with other opportunities. The average Dasher spends less than four hours per week on deliveries and many already have other sources of income or benefits.

To facilitate this program, DoorDash has partnered with the portable benefits platform Stride. Participants can allocate their savings to eligible categories and access information about available benefits through the platform. Employees in Pennsylvania who earn at least $1,000 in the second quarter of the year (excluding tips) on the DoorDash platform are eligible to open a Stride Save account and receive deposits into their portable benefits savings.

During the pilot, participating employees will receive deposits equal to 4% of their pre-tip earnings. They will also have the option to contribute personal funds, and all funds in the account will remain portable with the employees. This initiative aims to provide DoorDash employees with valuable benefits and help them achieve their financial goals.

DoorDash’s portable benefits savings program is an innovative solution that recognizes the needs of its employees while providing them with valuable resources to achieve financial stability and security. By offering this program, DoorDash is demonstrating its commitment to supporting its workforce and helping them achieve their goals both inside and outside of work.
