The Rattlesnake Club, a cherished restaurant in Detroit, has decided to permanently shut down its doors after 36 years of operation. Vice President and CFO Mark Tuttle expressed heartfelt gratitude to the loyal customers and dedicated employees who have supported the restaurant throughout the years. Despite opening in 1988, the restaurant could not recover from the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tuttle explained that changes in dining habits, decreased office occupancy, reduced traffic, and a lack of recovery from private events have all contributed to a decline in revenue since the pandemic. The seasoned professionals at the Rattlesnake Club have always been committed to producing exceptional food and providing top-notch customer service. However, even with their unwavering dedication, they were unable to overcome the challenges posed by the pandemic.
On June 29, employees were informed of the closing and offered severance pay. The closure of this beloved Detroit establishment serves as a stark reminder of how businesses across various industries have been affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The Rattlesnake Club will officially close its doors on June 28, marking an end to an era for one of Detroit’s most treasured restaurants. Despite its closure, customers will always remember their exceptional food and outstanding customer service.
