The progression of the attack on the concert hall in Moscow

Deadly Terrorist Attack in Moscow Marks Russia’s Worst Attack Since 2004

The deadly terrorist attack at a Moscow concert hall in 2017, carried out by the Central Asian branch of Isis-K, marked the deadliest attack in Russia since 2004. At least 130 people were killed when masked gunmen opened fire outside the Crocus City Hall and then entered the building, causing panic among those gathered there.

The attack began with gunmen arriving at the concert hall and shooting indiscriminately outside the building. They then moved inside and continued firing towards the crowd. Reports suggested that they also threw explosives and set fires before fleeing the scene. The aftermath of the attack left dozens of casualties due to smoke poisoning, prompting emergency response teams to arrive quickly at the scene to provide assistance.

Investigations revealed that the attackers were not Russian citizens but carried Tajik passports. Russian authorities later arrested eleven suspects, four of whom are believed to have been involved in the attack. This incident brought back memories of the 2004 Beslan school siege, where Chechen terrorists took over a school and resulted in the deaths of over 330 civilians.

The Moscow concert attack served as a stark reminder that terrorism is still a significant threat in Russia and other parts of Eastern Europe. The incident raised concerns about extremist groups operating in Central Asia and their ability to carry out attacks on Russian soil. It also highlighted the need for heightened security measures to prevent such tragedies from happening again in future.

The Moscow concert attack was one of many recent examples of terrorist attacks around the world. In recent years, we have seen attacks on concerts and other public spaces in countries such as Paris, London, Stockholm, Nice, Barcelona, New York City, and Manchester.

The attacks have resulted in thousands of casualties and injuries worldwide, with some leading to fatalities or long-term disabilities for victims or their loved ones.

Terrorism has become more sophisticated over time, with terrorists using different tactics to achieve their goals.

As such, it is important for governments around the world to work together to combat this global threat.

In conclusion, while Russia has faced many challenges throughout its history regarding security issues like this one must be taken seriously if we want our society safe from such threats
