Criteria Unveils Ambitious 120-Year Plan: Simon Sets Sights on Long-Term Growth and Societal Impact

The holding company Criteria, founded in 1899 with a share capital equivalent to 526 euros, has marked its 120-year journey with the unveiling of Angel Simon’s aggressive strategic plan for the years 2025-2030. The plan aims to double investments beyond long-term strategic assets in the industrial portfolio and provide liquidity and geographical diversification while reducing the overall quantity of investments.

Simon, as the president of Criteria, was present at CaixaBank’s operational headquarters in Barcelona alongside Isidro Fainé, executives from investees like Gonzalo Gortazar and Francisco Reynes, and other revolutionaries and legacy holders. Despite challenges faced by Naturgy due to shareholder instability and conflicts with other companies like Veolia, Simon remains determined to move Criteria forward with strategic investments in companies like CaixaBank, Telefónica, ACS, and Puig.

The new direction emphasizes innovation, diversification, and strategic partnerships under Simon’s leadership. Investments in private equity firms focus on the technology sector, particularly in the United States. Fainé’s influence and guidance are integral to the success of this plan. He has committed to constant improvement and adaptation towards a more successful future for Criteria.

The unveiling of the strategic plan marked a significant step towards the future of Criteria under Simon’s leadership. It is positioned for long-term success and sustainability in a rapidly changing business landscape. The milestone sets the compass needle of the holding towards social work as it seeks to make a positive impact on society while generating profits for its stakeholders.
