Survey aims to enhance health results for residents of Spartanburg County

Community Input Shapes Health and Wellness Efforts in Spartanburg County through Live Healthy Spartanburg Survey

Spartanburg County residents are now able to take part in the Live Healthy Spartanburg survey, which will help guide officials in making decisions to improve the health of those living within the county. The survey, which only takes about 7-10 minutes to complete, is conducted every three to five years and asks residents about their specific health needs within their community.

Jalisa Jordan, the program manager for Live Healthy Spartanburg, emphasized the importance of community input in this survey. Questions range from access to healthy foods at grocery stores to affordable options for buying fruits and vegetables on a weekly basis. Residents are also asked about access to areas for physical activity in their community.

With over 70 partners, including Access Health Spartanburg, this survey provides valuable data that helps organizations tailor their programs to better address issues such as diabetes, hypertension, and high cholesterol. Partners like Access Health Spartanburg, which is affiliated with Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System, use this data to create programs that focus on improving health outcomes for residents of Spartanburg County.

The survey will remain open until July 31, 2024. By gathering input from residents, these organizations can better understand the needs of the community and work towards improving the overall health and well-being of Spartanburg County.
