Clay County Promotes Small Businesses with Exciting Activities for Small Business Saturday

On November 20th, Clay County’s Main Street and the Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the 4th Annual Hometown Christmas event. The event is part of Small Business Saturday and will take place from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The main goal of this event is to support local businesses and vendors in the area.

During the event, participating businesses in Clay County will have special activities and offers for attendees, including a scavenger hunt that involves stops at various locations. The winners of the scavenger hunt will be announced during a community Christmas tree lighting ceremony at 5:30 p.m., which will take place at Brazil City Hall.

More than 30 locations are listed on the passport for the scavenger hunt, along with numerous craft vendors. Participants can obtain the paper passport at all locations and visit each business to receive a Christmas stamp from each location. Once they have collected stamps from 20 locations, they will be eligible for prizes.

Thrive West Central has also created a Hometown Christmas layer in their Crossroads Trails App to help participants navigate the various participating locations easily using their mobile phones. To download the app, individuals can search for “West Central Indiana Trail Map” in either Apple App Store or Google Play Store. This app will prove to be an excellent tool to plan out activities throughout the day.

Overall, this event provides an excellent opportunity for locals to shop locally while enjoying holiday festivities with their families and friends.
