Chicago Museum of Science and Industry Unexpectedly Closes for Unplanned Maintenance

The Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago has unexpectedly closed its doors on Wednesday for unplanned maintenance. While the museum did not provide any details about the maintenance in their announcement to the media and on their website, visitors who purchased advance tickets will be refunded or can reschedule for another time by calling 773-684-1414. The museum is expected to reopen for regular hours on Thursday.

Despite the closure, the museum is currently showcasing several exhibitions that are worth exploring. “007 Science: Inventing the World of James Bond” provides an exciting look at the science and technology behind the popular movie franchise. “The Blue Paradox” is an immersive experience that highlights the negative impacts of plastic pollution on our oceans. The Black Creativity Juried Art Exhibition, a long-running event at the museum, will be on display until Sunday, April 21st. Visitors can also catch films like “Dark Universe,” “Michael Jordan to the Max,” and “Tornado Alley” in the Giant Dome Theater through May 17th.
