Cayuga Health Systems CEO Receives Distinguished Citizen Award from Boy Scouts for Dedication to Community Improvement

Cayuga Health Systems CEO Dr. Martin Stallone was honored with the 2024 Distinguished Citizen Award from the local Baden-Powell Council of the Boy Scouts of America in Ithaca, NY. The award was presented to him by Matthew Bull, the scout executive, at a ceremony held at Emerson Suites at Ithaca College.

Bull emphasized that the award was given to individuals who have shown dedication to improving the lives of others and shaping the community’s future. He highlighted Stallone’s significant impact on local healthcare by expanding Cayuga Health’s presence in recent years and increasing access to healthcare services in the area. Stallone expressed pride in Cayuga Health’s efforts to improve the community’s health through partnerships, investments in people, and development of facilities and programs that support its mission.

Stallone drew from his military experience and noted the shared mission-driven nature of organizations like Cayuga Health, the Department of Defense, and the Boy Scouts of America. He emphasized that individuals working towards common goals for the betterment of their communities are essential. Stallone expressed humility and appreciation for the recognition, attributing it to hard work done by many individuals in his community.
