Participants in the 2016 Southern California Science Olympiad State Tournament hosted at Caltech
On Saturday, April eight, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Caltech and Polytechnic College will host the 38th annual Southern California Science Olympiad State Tournament, a group science competitors for middle and higher college students.
The tournament will draw more than two,000 students, teachers, parents, and volunteers from across Southern California to campus. Student teams will compete in 23 science-connected events like engineering challenges, chemistry labs, and tests in different STEM fields. This year marks the eighth year Caltech has hosted the Science Olympiad, bringing with each other regional students passionate about science and the Caltech neighborhood.
Members of the Caltech and regional neighborhood are invited to watch the tournament in particular person on Saturday. Caltech’s campus, Polytechnic College, and the surrounding regions will practical experience elevated activity and foot website traffic all through the day. All streets and parking garages will stay open for standard use.
