CalPortland and Solidia Technologies join forces to reduce carbon footprint of cement and concrete

CalPortland, a leading cement and concrete company, has recently partnered with Solidia Technologies through a technology licensing agreement. Under this agreement, CalPortland has acquired the rights to use Solidia’s patented technology, which has the potential to reduce the carbon footprint of cement and concrete by up to 50%.

The limited licenses granted to CalPortland allow the company to utilize Solidia’s technology in the development of low carbon solutions. In addition, CalPortland has also acquired certain laboratory and plant assets from Solidia as part of the agreement.

Russell Hill, CEO of Solidia Technologies, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership with CalPortland. He cited CalPortland’s commitment to decarbonisation in the cement and concrete industries as a key factor in selecting this company as a partner. Hill believes that CalPortland is an ideal partner to continue the development and research that Solidia has been working on for more than a decade.
