Busting Grand Theft: Two Men Arrested in Palm Desert

On Monday evening, two men were arrested in connection with a grand theft at a business in Palm Desert. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. when deputies responded to the theft located on the 73000 block of El Paseo. It was reported that two men had entered the business, concealed merchandise on their person, and left without paying. They then fled in a white, newer-model Lexus.

Following the incident, the Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team (SET) and the Palm Desert Business District Team (BDT) took over the investigation. The suspects were located at approximately 8:35 p.m. parked at a shopping center on Highway 111 and Washington Street in La Quinta. They attempted to evade deputies but were eventually apprehended.

Deputies found the stolen items, as well as numerous suspected stolen bottles of wine and over-the-counter medication inside the suspect’s vehicle. Both suspects were taken to the John Benoit Detention Center for charges of grand theft and felony evading.
