Lakers Dream of Drafting LeBron’s Son in an Ideal Scenario amid Excitement

Bronny James and the NBA Draft: Will He Declare and Join the Los Angeles Lakers?

As the 2024 NBA draft approaches, there is a growing buzz about whether 19-year-old Bronny James will declare for the draft. If he does, the focus will shift to which team might select him. Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium has said that the Los Angeles Lakers would ideally like to draft James, but they have not specified if they will use a first- or second-round pick on him. Other teams may also emerge as potential suitors for James throughout the draft process.

The Lakers have been frequently connected to Bronny due to LeBron James’ desire to play alongside his son. LeBron has openly expressed his desire to play with both Bronny and Bryce in the future. Despite concerns about a cardiac incident during a USC practice that was caused by a congenital heart defect, ESPN reported that Bronny has been cleared by the NBA’s Fitness to Play Panel and is now draft-eligible.

However, uncertainties remain about Bronny’s ability to transition to the NBA after struggling at USC. In his appearances for the Trojans, he averaged 4.8 points on 36.6 percent shooting, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game.

The Lakers hold the 17th and 55th picks in the 2024 draft, making them a possible destination for James if he declares.

Overall, it is still uncertain if Bronny will declare for the draft and which team might select him. However, one thing is clear – if he does declare, there will be a lot of speculation about where he might end up playing in the NBA.
