Meanwhile, in Kyle, Texas, an annual event known as the “Gathering of the Kyles” is held with the goal of breaking the Guinness World Record for the largest same-name gathering. This year, organizers are hoping to surpass the current record held by Kupres, Bosnia and Herzegovina, where 2,325 people named Ivan gathered in 2017. To be included in the official count, participants must have the name ‘Kyle’ spelled exactly that way.

The rules for participating in the Gathering of the Kyles are simple – show up with the name ‘Kyle’ and check in by 12:30 p.m. on the day of the event. Middle names and variations of ‘Kyle’ are not accepted, and only those named Kyle will be counted towards the Guinness World Record attempt. The event is free, but registration is required to participate in the record-breaking attempt.
