Breaking the Barriers: Tackling Science Culture’s Unspoken Challenges in a New Series

On 14 February, we are launching a new series of thought-provoking discussions about science culture called “Taboos and tricky topics”. Join us to hear from members of the chemistry community and share your own thoughts.

This series is a follow-up to our Vision for a great science culture, which was launched last year and outlined the behaviors, values, expectations, attitudes, and norms of a positive science community. However, creating a positive science culture is not without its challenges.

We have developed this series to address the tensions within science culture, starting with the conflict between advancing a research career and dedicating time to improving aspects of science culture. This is an opportunity to hear from individuals at different career stages and backgrounds, and also to voice your own opinions through our questions and comments board, which allows for anonymous submissions.

To participate in the conversation, visit our YouTube channel or LinkedIn page at 4pm UK time on 14 February. You can also submit your questions and comments at any time leading up to the discussion.
