Breaking Ground in Healthcare Leadership: UNF Launches New Doctorate Program for Advanced Leaders
The University of North Florida is launching a new doctorate program for advanced health care leaders, starting in the fall. Applications are currently being accepted for the Doctor of Health Administration (DHA) program.
This new program will focus on global health leadership and advanced management of healthcare facilities and institutions. It is an “applied doctorate” that aims to use evidence from clinical, organizational, and policy areas to address complex problems in the healthcare field, as per UNF.
Mei Zhao, interim dean of UNF’s Brooks College of Health, stated that the program reflects innovation and progress in the ever-changing healthcare landscape. The DHA program is designed to equip future leaders with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate complexities, drive transformative change, and improve the quality of healthcare delivery.
Students in the program will have the opportunity to learn from internationally recognized faculty and network with local health care executives. The program consists of 48 credit hours in a hybrid format, with 80% of coursework being online and 20% being on-campus executive seminars held on weekends.
