Boris Johnson, Ex-UK Prime Minister, Caught in Scientific Uncertainty during COVID-19 Inquiry Hearing – KION546

During his testimony to the public inquiry into the COVID-19 pandemic, former chief scientific advisor Patrick Vallance revealed that Boris Johnson had a difficult time understanding much of the science during the coronavirus outbreak. Vallance stated that he and others faced repeated challenges getting Johnson to comprehend the scientific evidence and advice. However, he also noted that leaders in many countries had similar difficulties in understanding the science.

Boris Johnson was forced to resign as prime minister in September 2022 following revelations of rule-breaking parties at his Downing Street residence during the pandemic. He is scheduled to address the inquiry before Christmas.
