Bill Gates talks AI, Education and Microsoft’s Future in India: Interview with Nikhil Kamath

In a recent interview, Bill Gates sat down with Nikhil Kamath, founder of Zerodha, for the first episode of Kamath’s podcast series “People by WTF.” During their conversation, Gates discussed a variety of topics, ranging from his early days at Microsoft to the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on various industries.

Gates was optimistic about the potential of AI to revolutionize sectors like education and make jobs more productive. While he acknowledged concerns about AI potentially replacing software engineers in the future, he emphasized that there is still a need for human expertise in the field. He predicted that while it is possible for AI to reach a point where it could replace all jobs, such a scenario is unlikely to occur within the next two decades.

Gates also reflected on Microsoft’s relationship with India, praising the country’s talented IT graduates and highlighting the challenges faced by the legal system. He noted that increased productivity in the legal sector could help address issues such as backlogs and improve access to justice. Gates commended Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella for his leadership and contributions to the company.
