Bayer Supports Education in Hawai’i: 10 Schools Receive Educational Grants

On November 19th, 2023, Hawaiʻi public schools received a total of $9,300 in grants from the Bayer Fund’s Hawaiʻi Science Education Grant. The recipients included Ewa Makai Middle School, H.P. Baldwin High School, ʻĪao School, ʻIlima Intermediate School, Kaimukī Middle School, Kīhei Charter School, Lahaina Intermediate School, Lahainaluna High School, and McKinley High School.

The funds were used to support various STEM-related activities such as a macro propagation project, a drone building program, a hydroponics project, a community garden, as well as equipment and supplies for earth science, marine biology, life science and forensic science classes.

The Bayer Fund grant program was established in 2005 with the goal of providing Hawaiʻi public schools with the necessary tools and resources to improve science education and inspire students to pursue careers in the sciences. This grant program is available twice a year and is open to public schools on the islands of Oʻahu
