In 2023, Austin Krajicek, a Texas A&M Athletics Hall of Fame inductee, achieved the prestigious No. 1 spot on the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Doubles Rankings in the world. Alongside his partner Ivan Dodig, who was ranked No. 2 in the world, they secured a total of five tournament victories in the year, with their highlight being the Grand Slam Title at the French Open at Roland Garros. This win came a year after they faced defeat in the championship match in Paris in 2022.

Krajicek’s impressive performance throughout the year led him to amass an impressive record of 47-19 and hold the No. 1 ranking for a total of 13 weeks, with the last ten weeks consecutively. His point total was also an astonishing 7,130 doubles points during the season, putting him 510 points ahead of his partner Dodig. Furthermore, Krajicek’s point total was also 740 points more than Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden, who tied for third place. Notably, this marked a historic moment for Texas A&M as Krajicek became the first Aggie to achieve this feat.

In addition to their Grand Slam victory and their success at or above ATP 500 levels, Krajicek and Dodig also advanced to the semifinals of the U.S Open further solidifying their dominance on men’s doubles tennis circuit.

Overall Krajicek’s achievement is nothing short of remarkable and highlights his incredible talent as a tennis player along with his hard work and dedication towards his sport.
