Argentina Prepares for Economic Boost
The election results in Argentina have sparked a flurry of comments from international figures. Elon Musk, founder of Tesla and owner of Twitter, has made remarks about local politics in the country, specifically regarding the victory of Javier Milei with the Gadsden flag. Musk wrote that the discussion went beyond Argentina and was very interesting. This isn’t the first time Musk has commented on local politics in Argentina, as he previously spoke about Tucker Carlson’s interview with Milei and tweeted about it being “interesting.”
Kim Dotcom, founder of Megaupload, also tweeted about the issue and shared a video by Javier Milei. Similarly, Marcos GalperÃn, founder of Mercado Libre, responded to a councilor with a chicane and then tweeted an image with a single word: “Free.” After Sergio Massa acknowledged defeat and consecrated Javier Milei as president, GalperÃn repeated his message and responded to another chicane from an official.
Sergio Massa recognized his defeat and stated that he will transition on December 10th. He emphasized that starting tomorrow, it is the responsibility of the elected president to provide certainty and transmit guarantees about the political, social, and economic functioning of Argentina. He also stressed that he greeted Milei because “the most important thing we have to leave to Argentines is the message of coexistence, dialogue, and respect for peace.”
