AI implementation is desired by two-thirds of Pittsburgh business leaders

AI Skills in High Demand: Pittsburgh Businesses Prioritize Effective Implementation Strategies

A growing number of businesses are recognizing the significance of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in their operations, with a majority of Pittsburgh-area business leaders stating that they would not hire someone without AI skills. This reflects a shift in the job market, where AI skills are becoming increasingly valuable and sought after by employers.

Despite this recognition, however, over half of respondents expressed concerns about their organization’s leadership lacking a clear plan and vision for implementing AI technology. This suggests that while there is an understanding of the importance of AI adoption to remain competitive, there is still work to be done in terms of developing strategies for its effective implementation.

Microsoft and LinkedIn recently released a report that highlights the growing demand for AI skills among business leaders. According to the report, nearly two-thirds of these leaders would prefer to hire a less experienced candidate with AI skills over a more experienced candidate without them. This indicates that businesses are placing a high value on AI capabilities and are willing to overlook other qualifications in order to acquire them.

As such, it is clear that businesses need to prioritize developing strategies for effective AI implementation if they want to remain competitive in today’s rapidly changing landscape.
