ACC Keeps a Close Eye on Pittsburgh Freshman’s Progress

Pitt guard Carlton Carrington has been named ACC Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week. The Baltimore native has been a standout player for the Panthers, averaging 18.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game with .523/.500/.900 shooting splits in wins over Florida Gulf Coast and Jacksonville.

Meanwhile, Penn State Lady Lions senior guard Makenna Marisa was selected to the Big Ten Weekly Honor Roll on Monday. In the Lady Lions victory over Kansas last week, Marisa scored a career-high 34 points and had eight rebounds, making her ninth all-time in scoring at Penn State with 1,864 total points.

Saint Francis freshman Bobby Rosenberger III was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week for the week on Monday. Rosenberger had a breakout performance against Penn State, scoring a career-high 19 points and grabbing eight rebounds off the bench. He shot 7-for-10 from the floor, hit three shots from behind the arc and made two free throws while also collecting five rebounds.
