Absurd Ventures: The New Media Company Revolutionizing Narrative-Driven Experiences with Games, Books and More

Absurd Ventures, a new media company founded by Dan Houser, the co-founder and creative director of Rockstar Games, is working on an “open world action-adventure” game. The company officially launched in June with a focus on creating narrative worlds, characters, and stories across various mediums such as live-action, animation, games, books, graphic novels, and scripted podcasts.

In November, Absurd Ventures announced its first two projects, American Caper and A Better Paradise, which are set to begin as a graphic novel and podcast before expanding to other formats. The company is now working on an “open world action-adventure game” that aims to deliver top-notch combat and gameplay experiences across multiple modes.

It’s not clear if the game will be based on the previously announced projects or something completely new. The company is currently hiring for key positions, indicating that the game is still in its early stages of development. Notable industry veterans such as Michael Unsworth, former vice president of writing at Rockstar Games, and Lazlow Jones, a former writer and producer at Rockstar, have joined Absurd Ventures to work on these projects.

Despite being in the early stages of development, Absurd Ventures is already poised to deliver innovative narrative-driven experiences across various platforms. Keep an eye out for more updates on their upcoming projects.
